Aug 2019. Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere is a beautiful building. It was built in the late 19th century in the name of the Virgin Mary who is supposed to have saved the city from the bubonic plague that raged throughout Europe in 1643. The church is a wonderful work of art in itself, both inside and out.
